Living Well with Illness: Discussion and Practices from “Leaves Falling Gently”

This online workshop is for individuals living with serious illness and their loved ones. Led by the author of Leaves Falling Gently: Living Fully with Serious Illness through Mindfulness, Compassion, & Connectedness, the program integrates key insights from the book, guided meditations, and group discussions. Participants will gain practical tools and develop inner resources to experience:
- Comfort and ease: Learn mindfulness practices tailored specifically for people facing the challenges of serious illness and their loved ones: managing pain and other physical symptoms, navigating uncertainty and life changes, and coping with emotional ups and downs.
- An open heart: Explore heart-opening practices that cultivate loving-kindness, self-compassion, generosity, and gratitude. Learn to recognize everyday blessings, fostering loving awareness and contentment even when dealing with illness-related stress.
- Receptivity in receiving help: Gain insight and skills to shift from resistance to receptivity in asking for and receiving assistance from others.
- More connection: Strengthen connections with others through mindful communication approaches. Connect with others in the workshop who are also navigating the complexities of health issues. Awaken your sense of connection with the natural world, a nourishing wellspring.
- Meaning and joy: Connect more fully with what matters most to you, which will help you in setting priorities at this time in your life. In turn, joy will naturally flow and ripple out throughout each day.
