Navigating illness and aging with greater ease & joy.
We help make that possible.
An invitation to shift how you approach aging, illness, and death —
from avoidance and fear to curiosity and equanimity
Who You Are
You are interested in shaping the later chapters of your life with intention and care, similar to other major life transitions and decisions. You are aware that you’re getting older and your health is changing. You want to live fully now. You aspire to feel complete and prepared — emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and practically — for whenever you take your last breath.
And/Or
You want to be more present and at ease in your relationships with loved ones who may be getting older, dealing with health challenges, or nearing the end of life.
Who We Are
Susan Bauer-Wu, PhD, RN, a nationally and globally respected leader in health care and contemplative science, is your guide and facilitator. With four decades of experience as a clinician, researcher, mindfulness teacher, and book author, she partners with her clients — individuals and groups across the continuum of age and health — to support them in facing the changes and challenges that come with aging and illness, in preparing for dying, and in living fully with meaning, joy, and ease.
Recognizing that life is finite, and that our health and circumstances can change at any time, is a doorway to Coming to Life. When we are aware of the preciousness of what we have, and that it will not last forever, we become more alive—our experiences more vivid, our relationships more connected, and our priorities more intentional.

Why Coming to Life
Living fully -
What matters now
Being mindful and connecting with what matters most now enables you to live fully, regardless of circumstances and any health limitations. With openhearted curiosity, lean into what is right and possible now, learn skills to better manage pain and other symptoms, experience joy in simple pleasures, and set intentional priorities and goals.
Looking back -
Integrating the past
Taking time to reflect on and integrate the past can be deeply transformative. It offers you opportunities to celebrate, appreciate, forgive, grieve, and honor significant people, places, pets, personal milestones, and experiences throughout your life.
Creating legacy -
Being remembered
Reflecting on how you’d like to be remembered and bringing your full self to leave your legacy is profoundly rewarding. It also matters what and how you give your precious possessions or personal, creative expressions of yourself and your love.
Getting ready-
Preparing the finale
Befriending death and attending to the various details for when you die bring peace of mind. This can include, yet goes well beyond, completion of advance directives or estate planning. You will feel lighter and complete knowing the end is true to you.
